The Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) at our non-emergency medical transport ambulance company plays a vital role in ensuring the safe, reliable, and compassionate transportation of patients who require medical oversight but are not in immediate, life-threatening situations. Our EMTs are dedicated professionals who blend clinical care with outstanding customer service, creating a positive experience for each patient and their family during transit.
· Conduct preliminary assessments of patients’ conditions, review medical histories and special needs, and continuously monitor vital signs and comfort throughout transport.
· Operate within safety protocols to transfer, lift, and secure patients in and out of vehicles, employing stretchers, wheelchairs, and other assistive devices as necessary.
· Accurately complete all required documentation and electronic health records before, during, and after each transport, including condition updates, interventions performed, and observations made.
· Provide basic medical care as permitted by EMT certification—such as administering oxygen, controlling bleeding, providing basic airway support, and assisting with patient movement.
· Maintain clear, respectful, and timely communication with patients, their families, dispatchers, healthcare providers, and facility staff, ensuring everyone is informed about transport status and patient needs.
· When assigned, drive ambulances safely and responsibly, adhering to all traffic laws and company policies. Perform routine vehicle checks, maintain cleanliness, and report any mechanical issues promptly.
· Work collaboratively with a partner EMT or Paramedic, demonstrating reliability, flexibility, and mutual respect at all times.
· Uphold patient confidentiality (HIPAA compliance) and treat every patient with dignity, sensitivity, and respect, regardless of background or condition.
· Inspect medical and transport equipment regularly, ensuring functionality, cleanliness, and readiness for use.
